Costa has served two matches out of his three-game ban for his bust-up with Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny.
But he has praised the Spain international for his commitment. But with Costa set to return in the Champions League tonight in Porto, the Portuguese coach insisted his team would be in a disastrous state if all his players were like the Brazil-born ace.
“I think we would lose every game because the desire to suspend him is so big we wouldn't have players to start the game!” he said. “So I'm happy we have only one and let him play until they decide to suspend him again.”
Despite his support for Costa, Mourinho was adamant there is currently not one player who is an ‘Untouchable’ in his squad, with the west Londoners lying sixth from bottom in the Premier League.
“To be untouchable you have to be consistent,” he added. “To be untouchable you have to be a fantastic player, but you have to be consistent."
He assured “At this moment we have fantastic players. Players who gave us the title last season – and no doubts about it – but football is about today, not about yesterday." /End/
